This year, Rockus, the festival that describes itself as “bad music in a nice town” falls on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend, and the organisers say they are “gearing up to make this the best year yet”.
In an innovative move, the popular music event, previously held at Testbourne, is for 2012 to be based on a number of venues right in the town centre of Whitchurch itself.
The main stage will be in the recently refurbished Parish Hall and, as space is limited, getting there early is highly recommended! The Open-Mic stage will be at the White Hart, where there will be many supporting activities while a marquee at Clacey’s Garage will be the location for the Silent Disco. The Red House will focus on family activities with bouncy castles for the children.
A wealth of talented local bands are being booked, which at time of writing include The Fortunate, OKCorrell, Ceasars Way and We Deny.

The event is one of many highlights of the Whitchurch Diamond Jubilee weekend which also include fireworks, a history film evening and a tea dance amongst the activities.
