It was not just the weekend’s Pub Race that beat records but this website too.
Although it is just one month since its official launch by the Carnival Queen on May Day, this weekend received over 500 views on a single day, its highest to date; a superb achievement for a new community website.

Visitor numbers also reached a peak after the two elections during the month, with many of those browsing choosing to explore the ever increasing number of businesses and organisations being listed.

The events listings are also proving to be very popular with over 30 activities already entered for June alone, ranging from talks and courses, to walks and film showings. More are added almost daily.

The website is completely owned, managed and run by the volunteer Whitchurch community and anyone can add and edit their own content, from business entries to news items. To find out how to do this just register and send an email to

Alternatively call into one of the informal website drop-in sessions being held at 1 Winchester Street, next to the Penny Farthing cycle rack in the Square. Meet the friendly team, enjoy a cuppa and see how easy it is to use the site to help both yourself and the town.
If you cannot make the listed times, just contact the site and alternative times can easily be arranged.

The next Drop-In sessions are:

Saturday 5th June, 10.00am – 11.30am
Monday 7th June, 7.30pm – 9.00pm
Saturday 12th June, 10.00am – 11.30am
