It was a well-attended service in All Hallows Church that celebrated the life of John Dennett, Master Butcher of Whitchurch.
A dedicated family man, musician, cricketer and perhaps best known as the town’s friendly butcher, John received a send off that was a worthy tribute to his time with us.
Friends and family recalled his years in a service of readings, hymns and music that included some favourites including from Jimi Hendrix and The Kinks.
It may have been a farewell, but John and his smile will always be fondly remembered.
RIP John – you will remain in many hearts forever.
