The Gill Nethercott Centre was buzzing on Sunday evening as the famed movie ‘The Italian Job’ was brought to Whitchurch by the new community group, Whitchurch Films.
The plot to create a traffic jam in order to steal 4 million dollars of gold had been remastered making full use of the Centre’s new cinema equipment. As Mini Cooper’s flew across the screen and through the streets of Turin, viewers could even sample the Italian beer and wines on offer while experiencing the great new AV facilities now available in Whitchurch.
The next film is a Family Matinee – The Jungle Book, at 4.00pm on Sunday 18th July.
Whitchurch Films – the new high-tech community film facility at the Gill Nethercott Centre, is now showing top leading films for local people, with films being selected from an extensive list. Film evenings are now planned right through to the end of the year with family matinees as well as evening gala events.
The fully integrated top of the range surround sound audio visual system has been installed with flexibility of use in mind. The system is so flexible it also allows for connecting up iPods, laptops and gaming machines as well as use of the Blue Ray DVD player to show films!
There is also the opportunity for hirers to be able to project their own photos and videos onto the screen and to run their own specialist subject film evenings.
