Plans for the Halloween Saturday in Whitchurch are coming together to create a programme that will cater for all. October 30th will be a Big Day in the town.

Pumpkin Competition for homes and gardens
Whitchurch Arts are again running a pumpkin decoration competition leading up to the weekend.
If you decorate or carve a pumpkin (or even a pumpkin patch) and have it on display at your home, in your garden (or even at an allotment) it can be entered into the grand Whitchurch Pumpkin Decoration Competition.
It couldn’t be easier to enter. Just fill in the form on the Whitchurch Arts website and have your masterpieces ready for judging before 25th October.

Judges will the visit during the following week and prizes will be presented at the Millennium Meadow as part of the Festival Fireworks evening (see below).
Pictures of entries will also be placed on the Whitchurch Arts website.
Entry is just £1 per display, payable when the judges pop around.
Pumpkin Carving at the White Hart
From 3pm on 30th October why not pop down to the White Hart where there will be an afternoon of decorating and carving. Pumpkins will be available, or you could bring your own.
Judging will take place at 4.00pm.
Entrants are then encouraged to take their wonderful creations down to the Meadow to join in the fun at the Fireworks evening.

Fireworks and Fancy Dress at the Meadow
The Festival Fireworks evening sets off at 5.00pm when the Meadow opens its gates for an evening of pyrotechnic wizardry, culminating in a very special grand firework finale, brought to the town by the Whitchurch Festival Committee.
After last year’s fantastic success we are promised an event and display that will be even bigger and better.
Why not come along in Fancy Dress too, as there is to be a competition for the best, with the Carnival Queen to be present to help with the presentations after which the bonfire which will be lit. Pumpkin winners will be there too to collect their prizes, along with pumpkin decorations by Rising Fives.
In addition there will be a small bar, soft drinks, a BBQ with burgers and hot dogs, and even ice cream!
Definitely an event not to miss.
The timetable for the evening is:
5.00pm – Meadow ‘opens’
5.30pm – Fancy Dress judging
6.00pm – Presentations to Prize Winners
6.30pm – Lighting of Bonfire
Fancy Dress Monsters Disco at the White Hart
After the fireworks, fun in the town continues with the Halloween Monster Fancy Dress and Disco back at the White Hart.
From 9.00pm the pub will be full of spooky and spine-chilling excitement.
Don’t miss this great end to the day, and even if you don’t fancy dancing the night away – there’s always the excellent beer to enjoy!
