Many successful shopping areas find that greenery in the way of planting or hanging baskets enhance the shopper’s ‘experience’ and can increase footfall to the businesses.

Church Street has been improved with the addition of potted trees and plants to the pavements outside the premises of Velvet Rose, Focus Hair, Pauline Forsters and Serenity.
These add colour and soften the street landscape making it more enjoyable to shop locally.

It has also been asked whether the litter bin (see picture) could now be decorated – maybe under the community art project.

The traders also have several other ideas in the pipeline following their recent shopkeepers’ meeting.
