Sarah Monk kicks off the fundraising event

The five fathers in The Four Fathers band rock the Hall!

The Parish Hall was the venue for a spiffy fundraising event last Saturday, 25 Sept 2010, for two great causes: Naomi House and Mityana Project.

Organiser Sarah Monk thanked the nearly hundred well-groomed and smartly dressed people who packed into the Hall for their generosity; she paid special tribute to several local businesses that helped make the evening a success: Paynes Printers and Dennetts Butchers.

The doctor is in the house!

Sarah also encouraged everyone to spend more money on the refreshments to help reach the £1000 fundraising goal. Volunteers sold drinks and served canapés throughout the fun-filled musical evening.

Update: The final tally was £1600 raised! Thanks go out to everyone who contributed!

Smile and play simultaneously? Impossible!

With Guy on the sound mixing board, the local 5 member band the Four Fathers took to the stage to wow the audience with their spiffy looks and sophisticated music, which ranged from Sinatra to Sting with a special, localised version of The Blues Brothers – complete with hat, glasses and words tailored to the evenings charities.

Smart dress for everyone!

A gaggle of Testbourne students and staff, along with the headteacher from the primary school, are heading out to Mityana, Uganda in October to visit the schools ours are ‘twinned’ with.
