There has been a slippage of a couple of weeks since [BT] last wrote to you on 20th March, primarily due to the works on the long spine feeding Whitchurch [from Andover’s telephone exchange]. With a major civil engineering programme like this it is difficult to be precise with dates.
The latest update is that the cabinets on London Street, Winchester Road, Church Street and Fairfield are stood and we hope they will be live during May.
The cabinets on Andover Rd, Freefolk Priors and Litchfield Road involve network rearrangement and are due to go live at the end of June.
[BT] will complete the FTTC [fibre to the cabinet] conversions before we deliver FTTP [fibre to the premises] and Exchange only lines, and we are on track to deliver both for the end of July.
In related news, the Whitchurch Faster Broadband campaign team were asked to take part in a PR promo exercise two days ago, on Wednesday 18 April 2012. The team pulled out due to the failure of BT to keep to their promised delivery date – and it was cancelled.
The previous BT statement about delivery dates was reported by us HERE. The campaign page has been archived HERE.
