WWWW Shropshire 2017A fantastic programme for the second 2017 World Wide Whitchurch Weekend has been announced and it is already packed with activities and attractions.

Whitchurch, Shropshire, took on the mantle as organisers of the second event after the successful launch here in Whitchurch Hampshire two years ago.
To be held over the weekend of Friday 2nd June to Sunday 4th June, the event holds something for everyone, from a Dance and Concert to Sports, games, canal Boat trips and even an ale trail. There are displays, live music of all kinds, walks, poetry readings and an artisan’s market, along with a party-in-the-Park. The weekend ends with a Brunch and the handing of the pennant to the next Whitchurch organisers.

The organisers want to make the event as ‘inclusive as possible and give people from other Whitchurch’s opportunities to perform and be part of the events’. They are also seeking any choirs or dancers who may like to perform. The rounders tournament is open to all, individuals and groups, while Whitchurch Walkers and Whitchurch Whippets will be leading a walk and a run respectively.

Nicki Young, from Shropshire Council, says:

We are all looking forward to meeting people from other Whitchurch’s so you will all receive a very big welcome, the town has really come together to put individual events on for all ages throughout the whole weekend.
