Colourful Lanterns – lots of Fun
Led by Colin Reeves, around 80 keen children, families – and everyone else – joined together to make colourful lanterns of all shapes and sizes in readiness for the Grand Lantern parade on Thursday 7th December.
The Workshops were also supported by Whitchurch Town Council who agreed to fund materials through its Grant Scheme.
Such was the popularity that more supplies of birch sticks, tissue papers and paints are having to be sourced.
The Lanterns will make a wonderful display of colour and light as they are paraded from the Silk Mill to the Town Hall before the town’s Christmas Lights are switched on.
The evening of the 7th also promises other attractions with carols and music as well as support from local shops, cafés and pubs which are providing additional entertainment.
It is hoped that Santa may also pay a fleeting visit.
AND ANOTHER CHANCE NEXT WEEK:
The next workshop is on Saturday 2nd December in Whitchurch Town Hall, 10.00am to 2.00pm
