After a terrific weekend of fundraising, Ruby’s parents have asked us to pass on this special message of thanks to the Whitchurch community…

From 20p on guess the sweets, coffee mornings, cake sales, all the way to £100s raised with wellie wanging, waxing, bike rides and skydives we are overwhelmed by the response we have had to fund raising. We are so proud of our friends, family and community for pulling together to raise such an amazing amount.
We thank you all so much for helping us, Ruby and so many more children who suffer with lower limb problems. Today is a great day to feel proud of yourselves and know together we all have made a difference. :0)

Pulling together
Yesterday certainly was a fantastic display of a caring community as people from all walks of life pulled together in raising funds towards obtaining a special wheelchair for four year old Ruby Lavender, as well as funds for the Steps Charity.
It is difficult to highlight any particular effort as all have made their own contributions, whether it is baking a cake, providing raffle prizes, jumping out of a plane, throwing wellies as at Oak Tree Nursery, riding a bike around Hampshire or even having one’s hair painfully ripped off as happened yesterday at the White Hart!
The fund has now passed an incredible £4000 – enough to purchase the wheelchair, and more.

Anyone who would like to help Ruby’s cause can contact their parents HERE.
The email goes direct to Ruby’s parents, not to this website.
