Ballot cards for the forthcoming elections for the Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner are now being delivered locally.

The election takes place in the Gill Nethercott Centre on Thursday 15th November when the polling booths will be open from 7.00am through to 10.00pm.

The Police and Crime Commissioners are being directly elected in 41 police areas throughout the country.

The Home Office say:

The job of the police and crime commissioner will be to ensure the policing needs of their communities are met as effectively as possible, bringing communities closer to the police, building confidence in the system and restoring trust.

In Hampshire the PCC will receive a salary of £85,000

Candidates as presently listed are:

  • Don Gerrard – Justice and Anti-Corruption Party
  • David Goodall – Liberal Democrat
  • Simon Hayes – Independent
  • Michael Mates – Conservative
  • Jacqui Rayment – Labour
  • Stephen West – UKIP
