Cycling is very popular in the Whitchurch area and the town will see one of the area’s most popular events being held this Sunday.
The Whitchurch Primary Pedal first held in 2014 is now a regular attraction for both local riders as well as for many from throughout the south. It caters for all levels from families enjoying a gentle day out on their wheels, through to seasoned hard riders looking for a hilly challenge.
The event raises funds for FOWPS, the Friends of Whitchurch Primary School.
Three rides set off from the primary school on Sunday morning (12th May) from with distances of 20, 40 and 60 miles, all covering quiet lanes north of the town. But distance does not matter as much as the enjoyment of the wonderful countryside, its rolling roads, the friendships and cameraderie that develops and of course the unlimited cake, a major feature of this ride. This is all followed by a BBQ at the finish.
More enjoying cycling
If in the area on Sunday, please take extra care as there may be many more enjoying cycling than usual.
Give them a cheer.
