Town Council Newsletter
Newsletters from Whitchurch Town Council are dropping through the area’s letterboxes in part of the Council’s aims to promote its activities.
The two-sided publication shows the existing town councillors and describes how they serve the community. All the Councillors are non-political volunteers who work for the best for the town and the main responsibilities are highlighted.

The newsletter can also be downloaded from the Town Council website.

Working with the Scouts
The newsletter is being distributed by the Whitchurch Scouts who are raising funds to attend events later in the year.

Two local Explorer Scouts have been selected to represent Hampshire at the World Scout Jamboree at Kristianstad in Sweden – a chance of a lifetime that will be a life-changing experience as they interact with 38,000 other young people from across the globe. This will be a unique opportunity they will never forget and enable them to be better prepared for their future lives, bringing greater knowledge of respect for and understanding of others back to Whitchurch.

At the same time a band of other local scouts will be travelling out to spend a shorter time in Denmark. During their trip they will also be able to undertake a short visit to the main Jamboree site across the border. Participation in this sharing of cultural knowledge will be something that will stand them all in good stead for the future.

Can you help?
To enable the Scout to attend, fund-raising is also being carried out by bag-packing, attending fetes, assisting with events, etc.
Should anyone wish to support this endeavour and assist these young people, please make contact through this website: contact@whitchurch.org.uk
