Last night’s meeting to arrange the grand Christmas Lights Switch On heard that Cinderella will be joining with the Mayor and Mayoress to light up the town.
At 6.30pm on Thursday 5th December the fairy-tale star will be helping pull the switch outside the Town Hall and Christmas in Whitchurch will be ‘officially’ launched..
Music and entertainment will be around the town, including at the Gill Nethercott Christmas Fair and at the Silk Mill, where this year over 20 stalls will be outside on the lawn. Several shops will be open with mulled wine and mince pies, while Father Christmas will again be handing out good cheer in his Grotto, and the Methodist Church will be open for tea and coffee.
Christmas trees will be lit up around the town and windows decorated, the latter to be judged with the winner receiving the coveted Best Decorated Window Shield.
Cinderella should enjoy her visit.
