Candidates in the recent Town Council election have provided us with the following…
Received from DAVE TITCOMB – elected Town Councillor
I am very pleased to be elected to Whitchurch Town Council and would like to thank all those people who voted for me.
I feel lucky to live in Whitchurch and will strive to support and work with the many groups and their volunteers who give so much to the town.
I would also like to say well done to Emma Sherman for standing for election and I feel that we need to encourage more fine young people like Emma to get involved with the council and other local groups.
Received from EMMA SHERMAN – runner-up
Well what a fantastic experience! Running for town council has been such an interesting and rewarding experience. Firstly massive congratulations to Dave Titcomb, a superb councillor for a number of years and will undoubtedly continue to deliver. Well done to the other candidates, Linda and Alan too. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the 111 people who took the time to come out and support me, and want them to know that their votes were very much appreciated. Despite not winning the election, I have experienced a whole new domain, which has allowed me to learn more about the process and the responsibilities involved in undertaking such position of responsibility.
I am considering standing again, especially with 111 votes! A support network such as this is clear to me that people would like to see a fresh outlook on the town, providing a voice for the youth and safety and security for the next generation of Whitchurch. I would also like to thank those who have given their continued support right from the start, and also to Whitchurch youth for all of the promotion!
Roll on the next election!
