Local Public Transport provision is always subject to changes over the Christmas and New Year period…
Improved bus services this year
This year Stagecoach Buses have taken a welcome step of improving their services for Christmas and the New Year. Whitchurch has previously been devoid of bus services on both Boxing Day and New Years Day, but this year that is to change with a ‘Sunday’ service operating.
This will provide passengers from Whitchurch with a welcome hourly service to Basingstoke, and enable visits to the Leisure Park or the shop sales.
A Sunday service will also operate on the 27th and 28th, while on 29th – 31st a Saturday service will be providing the improved half-hourly service on the 76 to both Andover and Basingstoke while Winchester can be reached on the less frequent 86.
They have also introduced some low cost tickets to make travel over the festive period more attractive.

On the trains
South West Trains are again not running any train services on Christmas Day or Boxing Day while a revised timetable will then run until Monday 4th January.
A Saturday service will run on Christmas Eve and passengers are also recommended to complete their journeys by 7.00pm as services will finish early.
From Tuesday 29th to Thursday 31st December there will be a revised Saturday service.
A two-hourly Sunday service will run on New Year’s Day.
