Following on from their very successful appearance at the Whitchurch Green Fair, Bin the Incinerator volunteers headed straight back to Longparish to prepare for yesterday evening’s big fundraising BBQ and Auction event at the Cricketers Inn.
I don’t remember ever seeing the pub quite so full as Whitchurch’s very own
Al Lloyd (Call me Al) and Kate Jones started off the night’s music, followed by young (sorry Al) up and coming Andover band, ‘Moorside’. By the end of the two sets, Longparish was rocking!!
The music was followed by a successful and highly entertaining auction with all monies raised going towards the funds needed to mount a credible opposition to the proposed Wheelabrator incinerator less than 4 miles from Whitchurch.
The next fundraising event will be on Friday 4th October 7pm at St. Nicholas Church, Longparish. The event entitled ‘What a Wonderful World’ will feature Longparish Village Choir and Friends performing songs from Shows, Film, Classics & Pop. If you missed Al & Kate yesterday evening, then make sure you catch them at this event.
Tickets priced at £10 include interval refreshments and can be purchased from Daisydown Gifts, Whitchurch (cash payments please), Longparish Village Shop or via Cathy.firstname.lastname@example.org tel: 07775 683452
