BBC’s One Show’s Rickshaw Challenge comes through Whitchurch this Thursday as it raises funds for the charity BBC Children in Need.
Six young people set off from Llandudno last Friday and are attempting to cycle the 411-mile route to the BBC’s Television Centre in London in eight days. All the riders are, or have been, supported by BBC Children in Need projects and will be taking it in turns to ride the bright yellow rickshaw.
So far they have raised over £300,000.
THEY ARE COMING THROUGH WHITCHURCH!
This Thursday, Day 7 on their route (15th November), they are travelling from Salisbury to Reading, a total of 51.5 miles.
From Andover the plan is to take the Wyke Down road, pass the St Mary Bourne viaduct, then cycle down Bloswood Lane into Whitchurch, before heading north and taking the Kingsclere road towards Tadley and the day’s finish in Reading.
‘Team Rickshaw’s’ progress is online at the BBC Children in Need WEBSITE.
The team can also be followed on Twitter via #TeamRickshaw.
