As postal ballot paper envelopes were delivered eyes popped out at the printing mistake that could mean either a redelivery to all postal voters, or even a postponement of the forthcoming Borough Council election.
There are three candidates standing for the single seat. Listed on the paper were George Garton (UKIP), Bill Judge (Conservative) and Keith Watts (Liberal Democrat), with the party logos by each, but there will be red faces at the Council Offices. Next to Mr Judge’s name, was the Liberal democrat logo.
Anyone could easily think that there are two Liberal Democrats standing.
The error was discovered when Steve Slack sent his ballot paper to the new Whitchurch Truth website, asking “Is it just me or is this a disgrace?”
Steve’s discovery was immediately passed to the local Councillors who have reported it to the Returning Officer.
