There is an opportunity to have creative fun and add some much needed vibrant colour to the town with a bit of creative street art.
Many will have noticed that the traffic bollards in the town could do with a spruce up (as could many other aspects, but we won’t go there).
The bollards have been part of a Community Art Project but due to several sets of roadworks, including the notorious roundabout reconstruction, a number of uprooting incidents by collisions and some bad weather they are looking a little worse for wear. Several decorations are nearly 10 years old.
They now need some tender loving care.
Would you like to help design one? Could you help and paint one? Would you like to be part of Bollard 2020 – maybe even design the 10th Birthday Bollard?
Street Art has moved on over years and is now a feature of many locations adding colour and interest to a locality.
Anyone can participate – individuals, children, groups, businesses…
If you would like to have a go at painting or decorating a bollard please be in touch.
All materials are provided and it can be great fun.
There is even a bollard that can be used for a practice run for budding Banksys.
Promote a cause or business?
There is also the opportunity for groups, organisations or businesses to adopt or sponsor a bollard and perhaps using it to promote their own cause while adding to the street scene. Why not let that creativity rip and add some colour to the town too.
