A third Town Councillor has decided to step down from the Town Council.

Cllr Paul McGarvey has handed in his resignation.

Last week Cllrs Jackie Day and Linda Thomas also resigned from the Council.

The process for replacements has been commenced.

The town website also wishes Paul, along with Jackie and Linda all best wishes and thanks them all for their valuable contribution to the good of the Whitchurch community.

On the Town Council website, Cllr John Clark, Chairman and Mayor of Whitchurch Town Council commented:

“Paul McGarvey has shown full support for Town Council and its actions during his long term as a Councillor. Throughout his time he has shown dedication to the residents of Whitchurch and has endeavoured to reflect this in his role as a Councillor. I appreciate that this was not an easy decision for Paul to have made, but an understandable one”.

“Therefore, there will be another vacancy within Town Council, please see notice boards for further information”.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul for his support and total commitment he has given to Council. I am sure that he will continue as a regular contributor regarding the issues of Whitchurch and I wish him well in his semi-retirement”.
