Who is the winner? Who took the prize, Who was drawn from the hat?
Every night for the last 31 nights a picture of a Whitchurch location has been posted on this site’s Facebook page.
But where were they? Hidden, tucked away, secret, or perhaps not quite so?
So how well do people know their wonderful little town?
From bolts on bridges, to cycling signs, from door handles to chimney pots, the pictures set many seeking out the locations.
Some were obscure, some easy, but those taking part sought out the answers.
Each night throughout October the first to guess (or know) the answer went into the draw for the grand prize, kindly donated by Andy and Julie at the White Hart – a fabulous meal for two complete with bottle of wine.
But that was not all, for along the way there were spot prizes – cakes, coffees, pints, T-shirts! These were all eagerly fought over as the sleuths scoured the town in trying to determine the locations. Tales of late night searches reached the organisers ears!
Meanwhile, the WHITCHURCH FACEBOOK pages became a mecca of local interaction as the hunt led to memories of local history and tales of Whitchurch life being discussed.
No we won’t tell! Look for yourself!
So last night, the daily winners assembled at the White Hart and the draw was made.
So who won?
The winner was…
Yes, it was Wendy;
Wendy Withers who had correctly named the location way back on 2nd October, which was a waterwheel bearing at Town Mil.
See, you knew they were easy!
Well done Wendy, and very many thanks to all who took part and especially to the White Hart for their superb support for the competition.
And now we move forward…
The website team will now be trying to think up another competition, but if anyone has any ideas please contact us at:
