Kier Highways, on behalf of Highways England, will be resurfacing a section of the A34 southbound carriageway, just north of Whitchurch, to ensure the network remains in a safe and serviceable condition.
Dates of work
The work is currently scheduled to start on Tuesday 28th May 2019 and is due to be completed on Friday 21 June 2019 (Monday to Friday nights only) – please note closures will not take place overnight on Friday 7th or Friday 14th June due to other roadworks on the A34.
For the safety of our workforce and customers, we will be fully closing the A34 southbound carriageway at night from the B4640 Tot Hill junction to Whitchurch.
During the closures a signed diversion will be in place via the B4640, A339 to Basingstoke, Ringway West, the A30 then the A303.
Access to the A34 southbound carriageway will be available from the Whitchurch junction.
Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles on blue light calls only.
Please be aware that these works have been carefully programmed but are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances – please check the yellow signs placed in advance at the junction for confirmation of the closures dates/timings.
