It was a rare defeat for Whitchurch Utd FC as they took on Wessex Premier Division team Alresford Town in the Final of the North Hants Senior Cup last night.

Alresford Town 3 – Whitchurch Utd 0

The ‘Church, who this season are excelling themselves in the Wessex Sydenham First Divison, at times found the game hard-going in what was a tough competitive match held at Foxcotte Park on the edge of Andover.
But it was no walkover as they showed bursts of the quality in their game that has taken them to be a contender for League honours. However, it was Alresford who dominated most of the match with their strength showing through in the second half, to take the well-deserved win and the silverware.

Whitchurch need to put this loss behind them as they travel to bottom of the League club Hythe and Dibden on Saturday, where their end of season thrust for a top League place continues.
