Whitchurch United continued their climb up the Wessex Sydenham League first Division with a nine-goal stunner down at the Longmeadow ground.

On a day with a cold northerly wind the home team were unstoppable against the Wiltshire visitors Amesbury Town.

Both Sam Argent and Luke Walker gained hat tricks, with other goals coming from Adam Everiss and substitutes Ashley Childs and Paul Coventry.

The Jam Boys are now in 4th place with 39 points, just three points behind Team Solent but with a game in hand.

With their present good form they have an excellent chance to continue their challenge for the top places when they play away against current league leaders Cowes Sports next Saturday (2nd March).
