Launching New Bus Walk – Whitchurch to Bullington on the 86 bus; “A Great Bus for Walking”.

Whitchurch Walkers are Welcome were delighted to officially launch their new Bus Walk, the third in their Bus Walk series at last Saturday’s Green Fair.
This 6.5 mile walk, explores the rarely walked footpaths to the south west between Whitchurch and Bullington, just south of the A303. The trail closely follows the route of the old dismantled railway line that ran from Didcot-Newbury-Southampton and you will encounter a number of the Victorian brick railway arches along the way. At Bullington the path takes you up and over the old railway embankment with clear views along the old track bed.

Green Fair success

Over 200 people attended Whitchurch’s Green Fair on Saturday afternoon prompting calls to continue with more environmentally themed events.

Bin The Incinerator – Longparish Rocks!

Following on from their very successful appearance at the Whitchurch Green Fair, Bin the Incinerator volunteers headed straight back to Longparish to prepare for yesterday evening’s big fundraising BBQ and Auction event at the Cricketers Inn.
I don’t remember ever seeing the pub quite so full as Whitchurch’s very own Al Lloyd (Call me Al) and Kate Jones started off the night’s music, followed by young (sorry Al) up and coming Andover band ‘Moorside’. By the end of the two sets, Longparish was rocking!!
