There will be more than the usual number of people on bikes today.

A 108km cycle ‘challenge’ – the Whitchurch Winter Wind-down 100 – starts at Catherington near Portsmouth and has its main control point in Whitchurch at the White Hart.

The riders cover the rolling route over the Hampshire chalk downland within set time limits – a minimum and a maximum, under the auspices of Audax UK (AUK). The rides are individual challenges, not races and suit everyone who cycles. Support vehicles are frowned upon and while there is very often refreshment – scrumptious cake is popular – self-sufficiency is a highly regarded quality.

Thinking about riding this if I can get to start/finish.
Anyone got space for me and bike?
    Happy to split fuel costs!
