This fundraising event promises to be the social event of the year!
A group of 14 Year 9 & 10 pupils from Testbourne Community School have been chosen to represent the school in a once in a lifetime educational visit to Mityana, Uganda in October 2019. They were picked, not for their academic abilities alone, but for their general all round behaviour and attitude to learning, as well as their everyday conduct and manners. Mityana Secondary School (MSS) and Testbourne Community School began their link in 2007.
The pupils will learn about the language, the tribal systems, social issues and HIV/Aids. They will also experience first-hand geographical, ecological, economical and conservation issues so vastly different from our own. The children will then pass on their knowledge to Testbourne School and the wider community.
Any funds raised in excess of those required for the trip will be used to support causes in Mityana such as the orphanage and local schools.
