Local people who oppose the carving off of a slice of the proposed Queen Elizabeth Park for a future 160 yard road linking Alliston Way to a 200-house estate will be gathering at 11.00am on the Alliston Way / Daniel Road corner. (This will include a photograph organised by the Andover Advertiser).

Turn up with banners and placards, friends, neighbours, skateboards, bicycles, cats, dogs, footballs, to show your discontent.

Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council officers have prepared a report that requests endorsement for allocating land as a road across the popular open space.

This is despite local people winning the national vote to have the Park designated wholly as a Queen Elizabeth II Field, in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

There has been no consultation locally and the report has been produced without the knowledge of elected Whitchurch Councillors.
