Lights Switch on
On the 1st December at 6.00pm the Mayor Cllr John Clark accompanied by the Mayoress Ms Rosemary Crumplin, will be switching on the Christmas Lights at the Town Hall. Singing For Fun will be present and lead carol singing, while for the first time there will be a Town Crier!
Bring your family along to watch and get in the Christmassy mood!
The party will then be walking down Winchester Street to…
The River Lights
Briefly pause by Great Town Bridge where the river’s edge will be lit up with candle lights reflecting the tranquility and peace of the season to come.
…and on to the Christmas Gift Fair
The Gill Nethercott Centre will be holding its Christmas Fair, which this year will be a little different.
The Fair which will have opened at 4pm will have a large range of stalls including Phoenix Cards, Pamper Chef, Christmas floristry arrangements, Christmas puddings and cakes, jewellery and gifts, handicrafts and stocking fillers by the National Trust. There will be fun things for children to do and bottle tombola for the adults!
Tea time treats and baked potatoes will be available to ward off the cold.
All this will be accompanied by live music performed by local people so you can relax and enjoy the evening.
A free coffee or tea and cake will be available on presentation of a voucher…watch out for them around town or call into the Gill Nethercott Centre.
The Whitchurch Association is working with Rising Fives to raise funds for the Preschool Group and for community focused activities at the Community Centre.
