Following the success of WADS’ production of Wyrd Sisters in 2007, the company is looking to stage another Terry Pratchett during October half-term. The play will be an adaptation of Carpe Jugulum – another in the Discworld series – and WADS is looking for more local people who’d like to be involved. This could be acting or even directing, or anything behind the scenes.
Carpe Jugulum is a pastiche on the traditions of vampire literature, where vampires wear bright clothes, drink wine, and stay up until noon. It features the three witches from Wyrd Sisters, Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat.
Just turn up at the WADS club night at 8:00pm on Tuesday 13th March at the Testbourne Community Suite, when WADS will be discussing production and design and costume matters. Or if you’d like to come along to a read through, that’s going to be on the following club night on 20th March – same time, same place.
