A short easy family-friendly cycle ride from Whitchurch as part of the local Fresh Air Miles cycling promotion, which is designed to help people use their bikes.
Included are several starts with a route based on the Bourne valley and the new National Cycle Network route NCN246.
As well as Whitchurch there are starts in St Mary Bourne and Andover and they will all meet up in Longparish.
Family friendly and suitable for all
The ride from Whitchurch is short, easy and very family friendly, using pleasant quiet back roads and will start from the Gill Nethercott Centre where there is ample parking. It is suitable for all riders.
It is an ideal chance to just potter a few miles in good company, enjoy the relaxation of a social bike ride, and enjoy a cuppa at the refreshment stop.
Refreshments and cycling routes
The Longparish village hall has been arranged as a refreshment stop, where there will be tea and coffee – why not also bring your own picnic.
A highlight at here will be a short presentation on current cycle route planning by Sustrans, who coordinate the National Cycle Network and promote sustainable travel, so you can learn more about general cycling for work, leisure, school or just for popping down the shops.
Linking in the local area
There are plans underway to try and link the Whitchurch and its surrounds into the Cycle Network which would be a big boost for the area. If you would like to help with this call John on 01256 892650.
