Bournemouth and Hengistbury Head
Tuesday 4th September 9.30 – 6.30pm £18.00 (coach only)
Back by popular demand, a repeat of last years very enjoyable day out to Bournemouth and Hengistbury Head.
Straddling Christchurch Harbour this charismatic and interesting headland offers one of the best short walks in Southern England. The two-mile footpath takes you to the golden sands of Mudeford Spit encountering wildlife filled heathland, flowers and butterflies en route. The walk is interesting and not too long with a small train offering tired feet a return journey. A short ferry ride across from Mudeford Spit beach will take you to Mudeford Quays for a spot of crabbing! Various watering holes are on the route including a pub, beach café and a hiker’s café.
Why not spend the day in Bournemouth?
The coach will first drop off those wanting to walk the walk at Hengistbury Head before taking the rest of you on to Bournemouth where you have the freedom to spend the day as you please. On the return journey the coach will pick up from Bournemouth first before continuing to Hengistbury Head and then home.
