Coach Trip – An afternoon at The Vyne Basingstoke – Tuesday 29th October
Join us for a lovely relaxing afternoon pottering around The Vyne.
An intimate family home, the history of The Vyne spans the centuries. From its royal beginnings in Tudor times to its place today as a intriguing retreat for you to explore, you can lose yourself in the surroundings that inspired great authors such as Jane Austen. Discover a chapel where sunlight streams in through stained-glass windows, a ring that may have inspired Tolkien or an oak gallery fit for a king. Whilst the garden is closed the woodlands are open for a wander and what better than a visit to the tea-room located on two floors in what was an 16th-century brewhouse. Its original oak beams and stonework create a relaxing place for you to refuel and refresh after a walk in the woodlands or tour of the house.
The coach leaves the Gill Nethercott Centre Car park at 12pm and we should be back for 5pm.
Tickets cost £15 for National Trust members or £25 for non members.
Please book your ticket in advance at the GNC or Library.
