It’s the last game of the season and there is still be a chance that Whitchurch could finish top and be promoted.
But it’s the longest of long shots as they have to not only win against current leaders Brockenhurst but also improve their goal difference – and at the moment that is standing at 8.
A tight game
They also have the disadvantage of playing away, but where there is a game there is also hope.
In the last ten league games Whitchurch have won all ten, while Brockenhurst is on eight wins and two draws.
It could not be tighter.
But whatever the outcome the Jam Boys have shown their worth and their ability this season. Depending on other results they will finish no lower than third in what has been a very competitive ending to the season in the Wessex Sydenham First Division.
A win on Wednesday
In last Wednesday’s match they took the honours winning at home against Ringwood in a hard fought game which ended in 3-0 with a goals by Adam Everiss and a brace from Luke Walker. However the same night Brockenhurst put five into the net of East Cowes Victoria to strengthen their hold on the top spot.
Only Team Solent can stop Whitchurch ending in at least second spot, and to do so they would have to win against Pewsey Vale.
But that top spot is still a possibility!
Kick off is at the Grigg Lane ground in Brockenhurst is at 3.00pm.
