Come to the sung Communion at All Hallows church this Ascension Day, Thursday 17th. May, for a feast of music and liturgy, old and new.  The service uses words from the Book of Common Prayer, set to the music of Merbecke, and there is a guest preacher, Revd. Canon Graham Trasler.

Before the service, at about 7.15 p.m., the beautiful “Prière du Christ montant vers son Père” from the cycle L’Ascension by Olivier Messiaen will be heard on the organ.  (For a sneak preview, this performance by Olivier Latry on the organ of Notre Dame de Paris is well worth listening to.)

See you there!

Andrew N. Smith,

Assistant Organist.
